Churchwarden shape with two interchangeable bowls in a Dress finish. This pipe illustrates one of the first recourse to the modern "Dunhill" mark (with legs on the "d", "h" and "l"). From 1995 all the pipes are stamped with this mark (in oval).
The pipe is dated from 1934 because of an article of "Modern Mechanix" issued in March of that year (see document).

WORLD CONFERENCE

Pipe made for Dunhill’s conference in 1980 with their principal pipe dealers from around the world. The Shell finish model was devoted to the US dealers
Group 6 size pipe shaped to resemble the Dunhill “My Mixture” white ceramic tobacco jars. There were less than 100 of Shell finished pipes produced.

Root Briar version of the 1980 World Conference pipe.

This piece hasn't the "Pincipal Pipe Dealer" stamping.

The Root Briar finish was reserved for the European dealers. As for the Shell finish about 100 pieces of the smooth version were issued.

Pipe in the form of a microphone resting on a gramophone record.
To celebrate the "UK Pipe Smoker of the Year" the Association of Independent Tobacco Specialists (AITS †) commissioned a British manufacturer a limited edition.
In 1982 Dunhill was selected and the award was given to Dave Lee Travis, a famous disk jockey with the BBC Radio. Among the 50 numbered microphone pipes, #1 was offered to the winner and #2 kept in the Dunhill’s Museum in London. This is the #12.

The Space Shuttle edition was carved by Bill Taylor (Ashton) just before he left Dunhill (1983). The small pipe can be removed from the holder.

Hallmarks:

The "H" date letter on the band (enlarged view #2) is coherent with the year suffix (22) on the shank: 1982

The crown certifies a gold band (fineness: 750).

A limited edition series of one hundred numbered pipes with two separate mouthpieces: a churwarden stem and a shorter stem. The model was originally advertised in the May, 1989 Harvard Magazine and was made available to the university alumni through the Harvard Clubs.
