Pipe carved in 1958 (first year suffix) and sold in 1959 (second year suffix)
• Value (Estate - Aug 2011): 422.00 US $ • 297.30 €
The not underlined year suffix and the lack of patent # are the clues allowing to date this Dunhill ODA from 1963 and not from 1953.
The "7" seems to be a second year suffix: The pipe crafted in 1963 may have been sold in 1967.
• Value (Estate - Jun 2012): 591.00 US $ • 468.00 €
This model also called the "Dry-Way" (originally made in 1938) has a bowl able to unscrew with a "kaoloid" pellet on the bottom (see also enlarged view). The stem is fitted with an innertube.

The precious metal trim on this pipe doesn't seem to have the AD stamping. The logs decorated lid could have been commissioned to an independant gold smith.
