Football Club of Saint Claude

Despite its name this sports club was one of the very first to set up (March 30th 1900 ) a Rugby team in France.
When it was at its top, this club gave its name to a pipe label. The maker is to bee found among the multitude of factories in Saint Claude (France) active there during the first half of the twentyth century.
The early Team's jersey was black and red (Photo 1901)
This club's seniority is all the more remarkable in that Eastern France is'nt actually a land of Rugby.
