Brand established in 1983 by Bill Ashton-Taylor (1945 - 2009†). James Craig (Jimmy) was designed by Bill himself worthy to continue Ashton pipes manufacture.

Pebble Grain (Dark sandblast), Brindle (Brown sandblast), Old Church (Tan sandblast), Pebble Shell (Rusticated and sandblasted), Claret (Smooth, always with a silver mount), Sovereign (Smooth natural).

X to XXX, LX (Extra large), ELX (giant), Magnum (Monsters)
SG:
Sovereign with exceptional grain.
Dating:
The number stamped indicates the years after 1980. Ex: 23 -> 2003

Early stampings (until 2008): "AX" wedged between the two horizontal bars of an "F". Grade and date were stamped under the two bars.
Early grading (until 2008): Two letters. The first is for the pipe quality (ascending) from F to A. The second indicates the maker's evaluation.
Current stampings: Circular stamp
The date is stamped inside the circular signature. (i.e. 11=2011). The grade may be inside or outside the circle.
Current grading (ascending): C, B, A and AA for exceptional pipes
